KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 2 (Bernama) — Malaysia’s Health Minister Dr. Zalihah Mustafa confirmed on Thursday that jailed former Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib has been admitted to hospital.
However, Zaliha refused to disclose the reason for Najib’s hospitalization, citing respect for his privacy.
Speaking at a press conference in the House of Commons, Zaliha said, „I can only confirm that he (Najib) has been admitted to hospital. However, the details of his condition and the treatment he is receiving are confidential and I cannot disclose them here.“ Thursday
Several news portals reported that the former prime minister was admitted to hospital on Thursday after testing positive for Covidien-19.
A spokesperson said Najib is now in a stable condition.
Najib has been serving a 12-year sentence since his conviction in August 2022 in the SRC International case.
